Golden Jubilee: Race Day to mark Community Chest’s 50th anniversary

The Kay Makan / Community Chest Race day held on Sunday 28th February 2010 at the Scottsville Race Course was a success raising R70 000 for the Beneficiaries of the Community Chest in the 2010/2011 financial year.

50TH ANNIVERSARY VALENTINE’S BALL

The Valentine’s Ball held on Friday 12th February 2010 at the White Horse Function Room at the Golden Horse Casino was a huge success. The Big Charity Walk and run was held on Sunday 31st January 2010 at the Golden Horse Casino. This event was well supported. GOLD CIRCLE / WEEKEND WITNESS CHARITY CHALLENGE RACE DAY

Gathered at the Scottsville Racecourse on Sunday were these representatives of the charities that participated in the Gold Circle Weekend Witness Charity Challenge Raceay and representatives of Gold Circle and Canon Msunduzi. Families from across Pietermaritzburg attended the event. The seven charities that benefited from the event are Lions Club of PMB, KZN Blind and Deaf Society, PMB & District Community Chest, Rotary Club of PMB Azalea, Natal Children’s Home, Reach Out With Love Foundation and three Masonic lodges. The charities received a total of R10 000 in the “Dig for Gold Draw’ and were each given marquees, tables and chairs in order to host guest

COMMUNITY CHEST / WILLOWTON OIL / ENSURE KZN CHARITY GOLF DAY

The Golf Day held on 5th November 2009 was a huge success.

Community Chest/ Daniels Flooring Charity Dance

This fundraising Dance was held on 8 August 2009 at Truro Hall, Northdale. The event was a success. KAY MAKAN / COMMUNITY CHEST RACE DAY

The 19th Annual Kay Makan / Community Chest Race Day held on 29 March 2009 raised an amount of R70 000.00 for the benefit of the 53 Charities of the Chest. At this event, Makan invites his suppliers to support Welfare by sponsoring a Race, which is then named after the supplier. All proceeds are donated to the Community Chest for the benefit of its Welfare Beneficiaries.
Present at the presentation of the cheque were :
